Originally released in 2006 to celebrate the brand’s 100th anniversary, the New Balance 992 Gray was the first New Balance sneaker to feature ABZORB stabilization technology. Designed by Jonathan Bacon, the sneakers are designed to provide support and comfort for everyday wear or sporting activities such as running. The New Balance 992 Gray is constructed with a suede and mesh upper that offers support, a form-fitting fit, and plenty of airflow. ABZORB cushioning material in the sole and heel is designed to absorb impact, thereby reducing the impact of movement on the joints.
